Situation
Evolve was engaged to conduct an independent, evidence‑based assessment of the Board’s governance performance. The purpose of the review was to strengthen governance practices and support the Board’s continuous improvement efforts.
Approach
We supported the Board through a tailored, end‑to‑end governance review, which included:
- Designing a three‑stage review method tailored to the Board’s needs, ensuring a structured and comprehensive assessment of governance maturity.
- Facilitating a kick-off meeting with the Governance and Nominations Committee to align on purpose, objectives, scope and timing.
- Conducting a detailed current‑state assessment through stakeholder consultations, review of key governance documentation and a governance performance survey.
- Presenting key findings to the Board, outlining strengths and areas for improvement.
- Developing a suite of recommendations across all eight pillars of Evolve’s Board Performance Framework.
- Facilitating a Board workshop to prioritise recommendations, categorise actions as quick wins, strategic projects, or longer‑term improvements and shape a phased implementation plan to guide ongoing improvement.
Key Outcomes
This work delivered a clear set of governance insights and improvements, including:
- An evidence‑based view of the Board’s current governance maturity across eight core performance functions.
- Confirmation that the Board is functioning effectively and meeting its core governance objectives.
- A comprehensive set of recommendations ranging from high‑priority to low‑priority improvements.
- A prioritised and phased implementation plan to support structured, ongoing enhancement of governance practices.
